“This is a good way to meet people from around theworld,”says Arun Khanna, owner of Colonel’s Retreat. B&Bs, he says, “are here to stay and a good value for money; a sort of middle-ground between expensive five star hotels and Paharganj.” Begun two
years ago, Colonel’s Retreat, with its peaceful location has been a temporary home to guests from different walks of life. Khanna recounts how parents who are in Delhi to adopt orphans prefer to stay at the B&B while finalizing their paperwork; “In a way, this is the adopted child’s first home.As the CWG approaches, Khanna has recieved some enquiries from athletes, but not too many. He says the majority of his guests
are foreigners and ”an increasingly large percentage of Indians”. Make sure you try the home made banana cake, you will go bananas in delight. |
